201 202 203 606 Paper Piecing Patterns on Cd From Hotp!ReviewsI was very excited to get this. I am new to paper piecing, and this was perfect! Even if you have a different tast then the special papers they used its ok because these are just the patterns so you can use whatever paper you want, or if you really want just color it your self. Anything and everything you could ever think of is in here. Even disney princesses, pooh bear, and micky mouse. EVERYTHING! I am excited. I had trouble opening it at first but that was my computer not the product. I had to go to adobe reader and open it from there. I am very glad I bought this, and will get one for my mother and mother-in-law. I pieced a card together for my brother one day when I just couldn't find something to express what I wanted to say. That's all it took. It's a craft I really look forward to doing. There are simple patterns for little hands but, it's definitely made for someone that isn't afraid to use sizzors. There are lots of different patterns to cover a wide range of ideas.Anyone that scrapbooks has enough scrap paper around to make the patterns "their own." Average Rating:![]() |

C & T Publishing Flip-flop Paper PiecingReviewsI have the book and have done 3 of the blocks. The pin placement is key to getting a guide line for flipping the green leg of the "flop" piece. Once that line is established its a piece of cake. I am excited to change some of my current paper piecing projects to this technique for speed and for easier joining of the blocks. For those who paper piece this is a faster, better technique. For those learning this is a better technique to learn from the start. Average Rating:![]() |

A Passion for Piecing: Breathtaking Quilts from Easy Paper-Pieced Units; 16 Projects + Award-Winning QuiltsReviewsI was in the midst of working on two quilts when Claudia's book arrived. One was totally in the design stage and the other was a "design-as-you-sew"-type quilt. I was trying to work out some design issues, and "Voila!' the answers were in this wonderful book. Not only are the intricacies of paper-piecing well explained, with photographs, but the inspiration for combining patterns and creating something new comes flying off the pages. This book will be a valuable resource for me for a long time to come. This book is a must-have for any quilter's library. It is full of wonderful projects that will appeal to the beginning as well as advanced quilter. With easy to understand instructions on paper piecing, advice on color and fabric selections, and so many beautiful quilts to feast your eyes upon, what more can a quilter ask for?! What a great Christmas gift for yourself or your favorite quilter!! Marilyn - St. George, Utah I have been a fan of Claudia's work ever since purchasing another quilt book that contained her Moonshine quilt so I have been anxiously waiting for this book to be published. I have not been disappointed. It contains patterns for 16 quilts but in addition what I particularly like are her hints for selecting fabrics, even organizing your sewing area to make the process more enjoyable and efficient. Sounds mundane but I kept thinking, now why didn't I think of that. I've been a quilter for almost 40 years and many of her tips are ones that I've never seen before. And the quilts are stunning and certainly out of the ordinary. She encourages the quilter to try his/her own arrangement of the basic blocks, to experiment. Although I have not yet tried any of the quilts from this book I'm assuming that her attention to detail will be carried over into the instructions and patterns themselves. This book will be in your library forever and you won't end up regretting its purchase. This book by Claudia Clark Myers is the best quilt and design book to come down the pike in a very long time. I have far too many books in my quilt library, and had sworn to downsize. I realized that many of the new books on the market are repeats of what I already have. I have always admired Ms. Myers work, and was excited to see that she had written a book. I was definitely NOT disappointed. This book is fresh, exciting, and packed with beautiful pictures and galleries, and the instructions and tips are superb. Claudia comes from a background of costume designing, and it shows in her work and instruction. Her method is paper piecing, enabling the quilter to obtain perfect results. Even though it has 16 projects, it isn't merely a pattern book. It encourages the quilter to explore her/his own style and design sensibility. It is loaded with ideas and inspiration. I can say that it truly is a cut above most of the new quilt books I am seeing on the market today. Do you want to move your quilting up to a new level? Do you love traditional, but want to breathe new life into it? Do you want to move into art quilting? Do you want to find your own style and signature? If so, this book is for you. It is suitable for all levels of adventurous quilting. This talented quilter has mastered not only her craft/art/talent, but also mastered the ability to show and encourage us how to do it. At a time when I decided to be very mindful of the money I spend on quilting books, I can say that this book gives me more than my money's worth. Thanks, Claudia. What a beautiful book ! I am a paper-piecer, and this book just takes it to another level. The quilts range from fairly simple to challenging , but the instructions are easy to follow and with the foundations provided will make it fun to try a couple at least. The colors and quilts are fun to just look at and covet. All in all, a great book for a quilter of any level - it will inspire for sure! Average Rating:![]() |

Simply Amazing Spiral QuiltsReviewsFrom the author: Most books do get published with errors. And, the publishers usually don't say anything about it because they don't want to look bad. Hopefully the errors get corrected in subsequent printings, but sometimes even that doesn't happen. (I have in my possession a book by a very famous quilting teacher which, even though it has been reprinted more than 10 times, still contains dozens of errors that have not been corrected since the first printing.) Even after careful review and editing, errors slipped into the first printing of Simply Amazing Spiral Quilts. It it was important to ME to correct them at the first possible opportunity, so I provided a list on my blog ([...]). You can still use the book successfully even without the corrections listed there. (In the publisher's defense, they went through a buyout, moved their offices and lost three editors during the time this book was being written, and it's still 99.9% accurate.) All of the errors that I was aware of have now been corrected in the second printing, which happened in the summer of 2009, so you can buy and use this book with confidence. RaNae Merrill The Spiral Quilts book is beautiful, but where is the pattern for the quilt pictured on the front? If it is cover quilt, isn't it usually highlighted in the book? I have also had a great deal of touble calling up the spirals on the CD. They are developed in several programs that are not named and I cannot find a program to open them. Please advise if I am just missing the instructions. I really want to make the mandala! JR This book had been 'calling' to me for some time and when I was given an Amazon gift voucher that is what I bought with it. I love it. Reading the way it is done opens up a whole new quilting experience. I have done the 'log-cabin-with-a-twist' before, but seeing how she made them in such differing shapes such as triangles is fantastic. That quilt on the front now seems do-able and I will try it! Well done Ms Merrill and thanks from 'down under' Sydney Australia! Absolutely amazing quilts. The instructions on how to draw your own patterns are extremely valuable to those who wish to create their own one-of-a-kind quilts.[...] All in all, an excellent book to add to an imaginative quilter's library. The product arrived very quickly and in great condition. I would definely order thru this person again. Average Rating:![]() |
